gallery picum 423x182 221 June 2016 – In the context of migrants’ access to health care, including sexual and reproductive health services in EU member states, PICUM organized together with Doctors of the World (MdM), the International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF), and the European Network and the Center for Reproductive Rights, a Roundtable discussion on 27 April 2016 in Brussels, Belgium.

The PICUM Expert Roundtable aimed at discussing with key partners the urgent challenges and barriers undocumented migrants are facing to access health care services in EU member states and the strategies to address these obstacles, in particular sexual and reproductive health care rights.

The roundtable debate followed the release of PICUM’s report “The Sexual and Reproductive Health Rights of Undocumented Migrants: Narrowing the Gap Between Their Rights and The Reality in the EU”. The report analyses the existing gap between the restrictive national laws and policies limiting undocumented migrants’ access to services and the obligations and commitments of governments to provide them, as well as recommendations for policymakers and service providers.
